About Deltona, FL

Deltona is the most populous city in Volusia County, located on the northern shore of Lake Monroe along the St. Johns River. The city was created as a master-planned community and is mostly residential, serving as a commuter town for the nearby cities of Orlando and Daytona Beach.

Lake Monroe is the eighth-largest lake in the Orlando area and offers Deltona residents plenty of fishing, swimming, and boating opportunities. Just east of the city, you’ll find several other smaller lakes that are part of the St. John’s River system. The Deltona boat ramp is a great place to take in the view with benches, and picnic tables.

Deltona is proud of its many beautiful parks. Two of the most popular and largest parks in the city are Vann Park and Campbell Park. Walk along the waterfront boardwalk, and enjoy the playgrounds, sports courts, and hiking trails.

While Deltona is mostly a residential community, you’ll find just enough amenities to satisfy your needs. Homes in Deltona are affordable and you’ll get more bang for your buck here. The median sold home price currently is around $309K. There are light commercial areas that include grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, and numerous restaurants. While there isn’t a “downtown” Deltona, you’ll still find some great places to eat. The locally owned Cocky Rooster Cafe is a good hangout for breakfast. Also, try Good Eats Diner, it’s a local favorite hangout.

Children in Deltona attend schools that are part of the Volusia County Schools District. Deltona is located just northeast of Orlando and is sandwiched between Daytona Beach and Sanford. You can be at the beach in about 35 minutes by heading to New Smyrna Beach. It takes approximately 45 minutes to drive from Deltona to Orlando International Airport.
