About Winter Park, FL

Winter Park is known for its historic homes, cobblestone streets, and lush parks. Not to be confused with Winter Garden, Winter Park became popular after the arrival of the railroad in 1880, and the establishment of Florida’s first four-year university-Rollins College. Winter Park was the first planned community in Central Florida with a rich African American history. Hannibal Square in Winter Park is not only a place to enjoy a coffee at a cute cafe, but you can learn about the community’s history at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.

With plenty of Florida sunshine all year long, residents in Winter Park love to be outside. There are trails for hiking, biking, and walks in the park. For those who prefer to stay indoors, there are plenty of shops and restaurants to explore. The crown jewel in Winter Park is Central Park which anchors the downtown. This eleven-acre park is host to numerous events throughout the year including the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, and the Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. You’ll also find the Winter Park Farmers Market in the old train depot boasting local produce, artisans, and plenty of food vendors.

You can also find some affordable apartments and townhomes in Winter Park. The median sold home price in Winter Park is around $416K. Winter Park schools are part of the Orange County Public School District. It’s the 4th largest district in Florida and boasts excellent graduation rates as well as top scholars as graduates. Winter Park is bordered by Maitland to the north and Orlando to the south. The Orlando International Airport is about 14 miles to the south.
